You can go anywhere! In fact we’re going next month with my family to a California beach to camp which has been a tradition for years. Camping is a huge part of my childhood and I want that to be something fun for my kids too.
A great family activity to do is to go camping. This last weekend (amazingly it stopped raining here in Utah for our little trip) we went on a ward family camp out. I was a little worried taking my 3 month old and wasn’t sure how she’d handle it, but she did great! The wind was a little much for her, but she slept all night. Some of the other moms there whose kids are all grown up said that you have to try taking little ones just to see if they do well or you’ll never know. So I’m glad I did it to find out.
But you don’t even have to travel at all! You can have a camp out in your own backyard or if you live in an apartment, you can camp out on your balcony or even in your living room. Make sure you break out the smores and cook marshmallows in a fire pit or even over your stove (I wouldn’t use nice forks because sometimes they can burn. Skewers might be a better idea).
