When our family got together for Easter, my sister-in-law made some sidewalk paint for our 3 year old niece to use to paint on the sidewalk. It was awesome because it’s made with things you probably already have and you can make lots of different colors! I really liked it too because you’re painting pictures rather than trying to draw them with chalk.
I do have to admit that I took a paintbrush and started painting with my niece. It was so fun!
Here’s how to make sidewalk paint:
2 tablespoons of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of water
4-5 drops of food coloring
Start with the cornstarch, add the water so it mixes up well, and then use whatever food coloring you want!
My sister-in-law learned about this in one of her Elementary Education classes, but I found the recipe on Frugal Family Fun Blog. So get those creative juices flowing and go out and paint!
