I’ve always been a fast driver. Left lane every time I got on the freeway. You weren’t going fast enough if you weren’t going at least 5 mph over the speed limit. My husband on the other hand usually drives in the middle and exactly the speed limit. When we were first married I would ask him why he was driving so slow and to pick up the pace. It’s not ok for everyone to pass us on the freeway!
But now that I have a baby who is always in the car with me, I have found that my driving style has changed. I’m not always in the left lane now. I’m usually just driving the speed limit. I’m a little more patient as I drive – slower turns, stopping better, letting other cars in, stuff like that. I’ve noticed that since I’ve had my baby, I drive more cautiously. Now that I have precious cargo in the back seat, I’m careful to make sure nothing will happen to her.
Has having a baby in your car made you a more cautious driver?
