I titled this post Epic Fail #1 because I’m sure I will many more of these to come. I’m a first time mom – I’m learning as I go!
So a few days ago, my 7 month old decided that she no longer wanted baby food. We’ve been feeding her finger foods and she’s been loving it! Then I would try to feed her some baby food and she would promptly spit it out. And I’m talking projectile spit so that it got all over her, the high chair, my face, and probably anything within 5 feet of her mouth! It was so frustrating! I tried different kinds of baby food, mixing it with different rice cereals. Nothing. And I guess it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but we have tons of it in our pantry and I want to make sure she’s getting well balanced meals. And there’s lots of food she just can’t eat yet.
So one day I snapped! She spit out her food one too many times. I just looked at her, took two fingers and dipped it in her food, and then I rubbed it all over her face. I think she was more surprised at first and then just kept playing with her food. She’s a baby, when is there not food all over her face?
I had to walk away for a minute. I went to the computer (don’t worry it’s in the same room) and started looking up websites of things I could feed her since the baby food obviously wasn’t working. I felt a little embarrassed after that. I know I probably shouldn’t have done it and I soon apologized to her and promised I wouldn’t do it again.
It felt good to put food on her face, but again, also embarrassing, but I decided to share it with you anyway. I texted my husband about it and he just laughed. At least he’s supportive!
Now it’s your turn! Do you have any embarrassing mommy moments? Or baby food stories? I would love to hear them – at least so I know I’m not the only one.
And don’t forgive to enter my GIVEAWAY for the My Memories Suite Software! Ends on Wednesday!
