This weekend for our date and family fun, we took our little 8 month old to a farm! This farm also has fun Halloween things to do for the older kids at night and very family friendly things for the younger kids to do during the day.
We got to pet farm animals, watch toddlers do a pig chase, go on a hayride, sit on a tractor, and play in a corn box (that was one of my daughter’s favorites!). The great thing is that this farm is only minutes from our apartment. And we got the tickets for half price on livingsocial.com! So it doesn’t have to be expensive at all!
If there aren’t any farms nearby, there’s most likely someone who owns farm animals near – horses, chickens, rabbits, pigs, etc. Even in my hometown in CA, lots of people had horses and we lived near a winery so there were people out there who had animals. We also lived about 20 minutes from a ranch with lots of horses.
A lot of children love animals and what a great experience for them to be able to see them in real life and pet a few! We’ll have to go back to this farm again next year when my daughter is 1 1/2 years old so she understands a little better. 🙂
