So remember how I told you to hold on to that shirt you made the No Sew Fringe Scarf with? Well I hope you did because here’s the second thing you can make from it – a No Sew Braided Headband! Getting this idea originally came from Sugar Bee Crafts if you want to check it out! I just used an actual t-shirt and glued it together rather than sewing.
All you need is the top half of the t-shirt, scissors, and a glue gun.
Cut 2 one inch strips under the armpit of the shirt.
Pull on them to lengthen them and so they roll. Take one strip and overlap it to look like this. You want the right side over the left.
Then take the 2nd strip and lay it over the loop.
Then take the 2nd strip and place it under the right loop leg.
Then take the left side of the 2nd strip and place it under the loop.
Then bring the right side of the 2nd strip and put it under the left side of the 2nd strip that is under the loop. Hopefully that makes sense, the picture shows it a little better.
Then pull all four sides to tighten the knot.
You want to play with it a little to make it just the right tightness to make this cute little knot.
Then cut a rectangle from the shirt about 2 inches x 4 inches. Glue one strip down with a glue gun and then the other strip on the same side of the headband on top of it.
Then do the same thing on the other side so all the strips are now glued on the rectangle piece.
Now fold over the top part of the rectangle and glue it to the strips.
Then bring the bottom part of the triangle up and glue it to enclose the strips. And there you have it! It seriously took about 15 minutes to make!
And since it’s so stretchy it fits on adults and also kids! Here it is on my daughter! I really like how it fit on her head. Not too tight and really soft. Sorry she wouldn’t look at the camera. It was right before nap time.
