My daughter is a little explorer. She likes to look at new things, feel things, and of course still put everything in her mouth. She can climb on anything in reach and even pulls herself up on walls. And on these walls are electrical outlets. And of course she’s fascinated with outlets. I think she’s tried to find every one that’s in the house. We had outlet safety covers that were completely flat and just had a little indent in the top for adults to be able to pull them out. Well she figured that right out and began pulling the covers off the outlets.
So we bought a different kind that was completely round and had a little push button in the middle so adults can get them off. Somehow, she still was able to pull them off! It took her a little longer, but eventually she used those little fingers to dig around the side and pop them off. Sneaky!
Luckily she’s not quite as interested in pulling off the outlet covers anymore, she just wants to pull everything out that’s plugged into the outlets. So I still have to watch everything she does. Which is what a mother is supposed to do right?
She also loves getting into drawers and cabinets, so Alan is working on installing the safety drawer locks too.
