There have definitely been some things that I’ve used since my daughter was born that I love and don’t think I could have gone without! I wanted to share my favorite baby things with you in case you were looking for some baby things of your own.
Here’s my Baker’s Dozen for that bun in the oven:
This was perfect for nursing! It’s a U-shaped pillow that fits around your waist and supports the baby as you nurse. It’s just really comfortable and convenient.
We got this bathtub as a gift and it was awesome! It comes with a sling for when the baby is really small and then you can take it out as they grow. It kept her in place so she didn’t slide all over until she was old enough to sit in the bathtub.
I love our travel system! It was so easy to take out the Bammer’s car seat and hook it right into the stroller. But if you do get a travel system, make sure you get a car seat with a tightening strap in the front. Ours was in the back and it was super hard to adjust. We just switched to a bigger car seat and that one has the strap in the front. Ah, so much easier!
We bought a jumperoo off KSL and the Bammer loved it! It was great to keep her entertained for a bit at a time when mommy and her toys were too boring. It’s also great for strengthening your baby’s legs!
These are cheap and great fun in the car. Especially when your baby is the only one in the backseat! The Bammer would wack and eat these little guys!
I actually made this myself before the Bammer was born, so there isn’t a tutorial on my blog just yet, but if I have a boy, I’ll need to make one for sure because the one we have now is bright pink as you can see… But this was perfect to block the cold, to keep her asleep, and to keep germy strangers and kids away. If you don’t want people touching your kid during RSV season, just pull the cover right over the car seat. Perfect!
I love our pack n play for multiple reasons. First the one we bought also had a bassinet part that hooked on top so that was the Bammer’s bed for her first 2 months of life. Second it also had a little changing table. And third now we take it with us to my in-laws and on vacations to use as a bed. It folds up great and is fairly easy to tote around.
I have loved having a changing table! It’s the perfect height, it fits all the Bammer’s diaper stuff, and ours is also a dresser where we put her clothes. Only until recently has she started turning over and trying to climb away whenever we change her…but before then, it was absolutely perfect!
Rocking chairs can be expensive, so we bought one from DI for only $25! It was pretty ugly and didn’t match the baby’s room, so we stained it and covered the material. I have loved this thing! It’s perfect to rock your little baby to sleep.
I linked a lot of these things to different stores you can find them at and the ones that are similar to ones we have. But look all over and find a great deal or make your own! You can look online, in thrift stores, department stores, and for online tutorials. I hope this helps your list of baby things too!
