For St. Patrick’s Day I made some little accessories to go with my daughter’s green outfit – her hair clip and some green leggings! The leggings were super easy because I made them from an old long sleeve shirt I had.
Here’s what I did. I started with a long sleeved shirt (any color you have will be great!). This one was pretty stretchy which was nice because it gives you wiggle room when putting them on your baby.
I measured the length and width of her legs to see how much material I needed. (My baby has pretty thin legs so I needed to make a new seam pretty far in.)
The great thing about using a shirt is that one hem is already done for you! So I hemmed the top and sewed down the side of the arm at the width that I wanted. And that’s it! And if you want to still reuse the shirt, you can make it into a short sleeved shirt.
I love leggings because you don’t have to take them off to change a diaper and they still keep your baby’s legs warm!
