We had an awesome Easter Weekend! Alan was sick all week with the flu so it was nice for him to be able to finally get out and the weather was amazing!
Saturday we headed to BYU where they did their 1st annual Easter Egg Hunt. It was free and tons of people showed up. The football field was covered in candy and prizes and was cleared in about a minute. The Bammer got some yummy candy and had a great time! Then we spent the day picnicking on campus, watching men’s tennis, and just enjoying the sunshine.
Sunday we started the day with the Bammer looking at her Easter Basket and trying to do a small Easter Egg Hunt. She didn’t really enjoy looking for eggs, but she did love that there were jellybeans inside! After she grabbed an egg, she would give it to one of us to open so she could eat the candy. 😉
After a delicious breakfast (and some major clean up from the homemade syrup bubbling over onto the stove…) we went to church where Alan and I both spoke in sacrament about the Resurrection. For those who don’t know, Mormons don’t pay our clergy members, it’s all volunteer. And the “sermons” are given each week by members of the congregation. We’re given a topic and get about 15-20 minutes each to speak. Alan and I both felt it went well!
My parents and sister Tate came to hear us speak and then came over for a delicious Easter dinner. I made half of it and was so proud of myself that I’m starting to pitch in for holiday meals and it turned out! I was really excited and it made me feel like a mom. 😉 Then we dyed some Easter eggs and finished with dessert. It was a fabulous Easter weekend! I hope you had a wonderful weekend too!
