I’ve always liked reading, but never really got to read anything for fun once I hit high school and that continued through college. I just didn’t have the time! But now that I’m done with school and get to stay home with the Bammer, I find I have a little more time to read. Not a ton, but definitely some more time.
So I’ve been pounding through some books lately and it’s been a lot of fun! But after I finish one I often think, what should I read now? So I wanted to share some books with you that I think are really great and I would love for you to share the books that you’re reading to help give all of us some good ideas too! Librarians may have some great ideas of books to read!
I’m currently reading a book called Glimpses into the Life and Heart of Marjorie Pay Hinckely. I started reading it a few years ago (while in college) and didn’t get to finish it. Surprise surprise. But it was so good so I thought I would start again now. Marjorie Hinckley is an amazing example of a mother and grandmother. When I read about the things she did I think, oh I want to be just like that! Marjorie Hinckley was the wife of our most recently deceased prophet of the LDS church Gordon B. Hinckley. You should read it!
I’m also plowing through the 9 volume series of The Work and the Glory by Gerald N. Lund. They really help me have a better understanding and love for the early LDS converts in the 1830’s and 40’s.
And for those of you who aren’t LDS and may not be interested in these, here are some other books I’ve read lately that were great!
