Hooray it’s November!
I really like this month. It’s still fall and hopefully not snowing too much yet, it’s mine and Alan’s anniversary (3 years this year! Woot!), and I like the gratitude that surrounds the Thanksgiving holiday. I actually don’t really like Thanksgiving food that much, but that’s a different story…
Anyway, one thing to help us be thankful is to do a thankful turkey. Each day we each write something we are thankful for on a turkey feather and tape it to the turkey. The last few years I’ve done a regular paper turkey, but this year I made one out of material scraps. So hopefully we can keep this one for next year.
Here’s our turkey from last year…
And here’s this years!
To make the turkey, I used scrap fabric (felt, fleece, and cotton), spray adhesive, and card stock. I sprayed the card stock with the glue, attached the fabric, and then cut out my shapes (I used bowls for the circles). Then I glued it all together!
I let the Bammer write what she was thankful for – hence the scribbles. And now it’s above our fireplace to remind us to be thankful!
