This is the second decorative item that we made for my sister’s wedding reception.
A beautiful Doily Lantern Bowl!

Through a little bit of trial and error, we figured out how to make these beautiful bowls!
What you need:
(They cannot be paper!)
Battery Tea Light Candles
Start by blowing up balloons to put the doilies on. You’ll want to experiment with it to get the size you want. We had 10 inch doilies so we blew up the balloons about half way.
Make the glue mixture by using about 1/2 part glue and 1/2 part water. You can add more of each to get the consistency you want. It doesn’t need to be too thick.
Then place the doily on the balloon, but on only half of it because you’ll want the two to overlap. Then brush on more of the glue mixture so that it lays flat on the balloon. We were pretty generous with putting the glue mixture on the doily.
Then repeat. Soak a second doily and put it on the balloon so that the doilies are both touching as much as possible. You’ll probably need to move the doilies a little and that’s totally fine. Then once they are in the position you want, brush the glue mixture over them again. Then place the balloon in a bowl to let it dry without touching anything.
Once you’ve made all the bowls you want, allow them to dry for 24 hours. Then slowly let the air out of the balloons. And there you have it! Beautiful doily bowls!
For my sister’s reception we placed battery tea light candles in them which were perfect for the wedding theme and occasion.
