Our first Christmas being married, Alan got me a sewing machine which I love! And over the last 3 years I’ve collected lots of little sewing essentials – thread, buttons, scissors, pins, a seam ripper, needles, etc. You know what I’m talking about.
Here’s a tip to help you organize all of that sewing stuff you have!
Well I just had a box that I threw it all in along with all my other craft stuff. Which made it so hard to find what I wanted. I would dig around in it looking for the button I wanted and I cannot even tell you how many times I dropped it and things went spilling all over the place!
But then genius happened.
Well it actually happened a few years ago and I forgot about it. One Mother’s Day my dad bought my mom a fish tackle box to put all of her sewing things in. It’s perfect because it has tons of little compartments for all your things and then a big compartment at the bottom for the big stuff. And it’s oh so inexpensive! Now I don’t know who’s idea this was – maybe it was my dad’s since he surprised my mom. (I’m sure I’ll find out after I post this).
So I told Alan about it and he bought me one for my birthday. Wahoo! I love that it fits everything so nicely! My mom said recently that she’s growing out of hers, but the good news is, there are bigger tackle boxes! So you can always upgrade when you need to.
And I turned my larger box into just craft supplies and the smaller box into a ribbon box.
So nice and neat and organized!
