Last week we were supposed to head to Moab with Alan’s family for their Spring Break. Well… That didn’t happen. Both my girls got sick the weekend before and so did Alan. It was just going to be miserable for all of us. So we canceled.
Alan had already asked for the days off, so we decided to do our own little staycation instead! Here are our little adventures.
We have a season pass for our local aquarium, so we went there! And so did half of Salt Lake! It was pretty crowded, but the girls still loved it. I think this is the first time Chloe was able to actively look at all of the sea animals. The aquarium is always one of my favorite places to go.
We headed to the new Scheel’s to check out it’s awesomeness we’ve been hearing about. Our girls were a little small for the indoor Ferris Wheel, but it was still fun to see. There was DDR and a small jungle gym for the kids, an aquarium, lots of “stuffed” animals, etc. Definitely a neat thing to see. We wanted to go on the carousel in the mall nearby, but it was closed when we got there. So disappointing. Alan said, “It wouldn’t be a vacation without something being disappointing, right?”
We went to our local indoor pool which was awesome! It has a splash zone with an indoor little water park! The girls loved it! Especially Kami. She cried and cried when it was time to go. I have a feeling we’ll be spending lots of time in the water this summer. And I am totally ok with that. I love the water too!
So that was our few little days of fun. It wasn’t quite Moab, but it was really nice to just be together as a family. And the good news is we are all just about healthy now! Hooray! We’re still having some sleep issues with the girls though. I thought that would be over when they weren’t sick anymore. I hope that ends real soon too. I need my sleep!
