Last weekend for UEA (Fall break for Utah), we headed to Alan’s family’s cabin for a few days with his family. We’ve never been there in the fall, so we weren’t totally sure what to expect since it is already getting pretty cold in Idaho.
We did see a little snow, squirrels, and birds. It was pretty brisk outside, but with heaters and all the people there, it stayed pretty warm inside. We had a great time taking walks, watching movies, reading, lots of eating, and playing games. Sadly Clo didn’t do so well at night. She is such a light sleeper and being in a loft with everyone else was a little rough for her. So even though the days were fun, we didn’t get much sleep. But it was still a great break from the everyday stuff. We needed it!
Here are some pictures from the event!
We walked down to the lake and the girls practiced their rock skipping skills. Mostly they were big splashes. 🙂 The lake was so pretty and calm.
Here’s a beautiful picture that Alan took at sunset.
My girls loved being outside and going on walks! Clo wanted to walk by herself most of the time and often ended up off the beaten road. 🙂
Kami took this picture all by herself! (With a little bit of dad’s help) She loved the pine cones.
And my girls loved being with extended family. Kami was so sweet to baby Drew. It makes me feel better about having a baby soon. I think Kami will be much softer this time than she was to Clo when she was born.
Clo and her cousin Lee. They’re just 2 months apart and are at exactly the same stage of development. So it’s really fun to watch them do the same things.
Alan’s brother was napping in the corner and both girls ran over to come snuggle with him. They love Uncle Matthew!
P.S. I entered a homemade Halloween costume contest at Crazy Little Projects and would love if you could head over there and vote for our S’mores costumes! I’m #10!
