These last few weeks have been pretty crazy!
Very suddenly we decided to move to be closer to Alan’s work and have our own place again. He was driving an hour commute up a canyon every day and with all the snow we’ve been having I was started to get nervous for his safety. So his new commute is much shorter and not up a canyon. Hooray!
Right after we decided to move and found a really cute place, it was Christmas. We had a great Christmas spending time with both sides of the family. This year was especially fun because Kami started to grasp the Santa concept and both my girls were so excited! The magic comes back to Christmas when you have kids, don’t you think?
On Christmas Eve we did a progressive dinner with Alan’s family which includes reenacting the nativity. Both my girls got to be little angels and Kami had to be near baby Jesus. She kept comforting him and telling him it was ok. It was so sweet!
Then the week after Christmas we moved. Luckily half our stuff was in a storage shed so it was already packed and ready for us. So the packing part wasn’t so bad. We had a lot of help from family during the moving process (Thanks everyone! You guys are the best!). Then as I started to unpack all the things we haven’t used in 8 months I realized we were very disorganized. And I’m changing our color schemes for our apartment. Which is good for the blog right? I’m super excited about it, but it’s going to take a lot of time and effort especially with a baby coming in…8 weeks!
And my husband is excited to fix up our furniture too so that’s a huge plus! Here’s a painting I recently bought that I’m getting inspiration from. I love it!
Then a few days after we moved in, it was Alan’s birthday! I felt bad I didn’t do a post about it, but we didn’t have internet for a few days and I’ve been cleaning and organizing and shopping like a crazy person!
But I love you so much Alan! We got to celebrate all week by doing a dinner and cake with one family Sunday and the other the following Sunday and then just our own family celebrating on the actual day. So there was definitely celebrating!
These are just some fun pictures from last week.
Anyway, that’s a little update on our lives. Things are going really well in our new place and the girls have adjusted quickly. And now I have lots of things to blog about! 🙂 Thanks for being patient with me and the blog as we tried to get things back to normal life.
