This is a sponsored post. I did receive a free copy of Sweets & Treats, but all opinions are 100% my own.
Have you seen the new Sweets and Treats with Six Sisters’ Stuff cookbook that’s out? This recipe book is full of great treats that your family will love! These recipes are ideal for the moms who love to make treats for their family, but may not have tons of time. Many of the recipes start with a boxed cake mix or are quick to put together so you can still make something yummy without spending tons of time in the kitchen.
Because how many of us have kids who want dessert right now?! And don’t want to wait while things have to sit or be mixed multiple times. And who wants to have to wash every bowl and pan in their kitchen when the dessert is finally done?
I really like baking from scratch, but let’s be real here…there isn’t always time.
As I was looking through Sweets and Treats I came across some raspberry crumb bars that sounded delicious and thought I would make those to share with you! Berries have been on sale at our grocery store lately, so I definitely wanted to make something with them. I made some apple crumb bars not too long ago (which taste just like apple pie) and these are are a similar idea.
Six Sisters’ Raspberry Crumb Bars
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup shortening
dash ground cinnamon
4 cups fresh raspberries (or frozen- just thaw them first)
1/2 cup sugar
3 teaspoons corn starch
(or you could use a can raspberry pie filling – either one works!)
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Spray a 9×13″ baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
2. Combine 1 cup of the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, shortening, and egg. The dough will be crumbly.
4. In a medium bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch and berries.
7. Bake at 375 degrees F for 35-45 minutes or until the top is slightly brown.Makes 15-18 bars.
